Back to Blogging

Yesterday I posted a couple Game Montages and got the Glitching Archive and Gametage Archive set up, however, I'm back to my life and gaming today. I finally played the demos I downloaded to my Xbox 360 (Since I can't play Game Discs because of a broken Disc Tray). The Demos were "Need for Speed: Pro Streets" and "Guitar Hero 3". I actually enjoyed both games, I enjoyed Need For Speed because of the beautiful graphics and well put together gameplay, and Guitar Hero because it was a challenging, and addicting game. I have no complaints for Pro Street, however, in Guitar Hero 3 I wish they optimized the graphics because it wasn't cutting it on my High Definition Television, it was a bit jagged.

Site Layout...

Alright, today I added some stuff to the site. On the top right, there are now tabs identified as "Haloverated: My 2 Cents on Gaming" which is the Blog/ Hompage section of the site, "Glitching Archive," which is an organized archive of Glitches I have posted on the site, and "Gametage Archive" which is where I am archiving all the Game Video Montages I have Blogged about. Hopefully by sectioning the site this way it will be much easier to take it all in.

Gears of War Glitching Archive

Welcome to the Gears of War Gliktching section. Gears of War, since its release has been a wonderful game, but somewhat insecure, many glitches, eggs and exploits have been retrieved, because of this the Gears of War Glitching section of the site is the largest glitching Archive here so far.

Since the release of Gears of War, or GOW, many exploits have been discovered by the Glitching community and lucky bastards who randomly found them while trying to simply play the game. However, Gears of War has been patched a few times because many of these Glitches, even though they are fun, create an unfair advantage during multiplayer gameplay. Because of this I highly advise any one reading this to only use these glitches in player matches, not ranked. Glitching is considered by many as cheating, so use all glitches at your own risk. During a player match expect to be kicked unless you are playing with a host, or other people who are accept glitching. If you glitch in ranked have the expectation that one day, while it is rare, you may get temperarily banned, this has happened before, the length of ban depending on the severity of your actions.

Here is the Current List of Gears of War Glitches (More will be Added Soon)...

Xbox 360 Glitching Archive

The Xbox 360 may well be the best console currently on the market. However, this does not by any mean say the games created to run on iit are perfect, they are not. What I maean by this is that many of the games, if not all have holes in them, glitches. Because of the large number of flaws, glitches, eggs, exploits, etc. in Xbox 360 game titles you will notice that this glitching section of the site is one of the largest collections so far. Below is a list of current games glithes have been recored on, many more will follow up soon.

Xbox 360 Condition

As reported earlier, my Xbox 360 disc tray is broken, and I cannot play any game discs. However, after getting over this emotional crisis I focused on the better things. I went to Microsoft's Market Place and looked at the new Demos. I was in luck, big time game demos "Need For Speed: Pro Street" and "Guitar Hero 3" demos were readily available. So, as I am typing this thread, I am downloading these new demos, hopefully they will be time worthy.

Gaming Gametage Archive

Gaming has been around a while. People are proud of the skills they have developed while gaming, at least some are. Many people have gone as far as taping themselves gaming, and producing Montages (Gaming Montages = Gametages). I will be adding Gametages to the site over time, pointing out which ones I like best and so forth. I may also buy a capture card and create my own Gametage one day, when I get the time, until then, check out this Gametage from Gears of War...

Game Glitching Archive

Welcome to Haloverated's Glitching Archive.

A new realm has come about in the world of console and PC oriented gaming, atleast new too many. Glitching (A minor malfunction, mishap, or technical problem), or an exploit, allows people to do actions inside the game which are not purposely put it the game by a creator. Glitches have been around since the dawn of gaming, however, untill recently it hasn't been such an issue, or caused such controversies. Since Microsoft's newest console, the Xbox 360, has been released the popularity of glitching has tremendously increased. Now glitching is well known by most Xbox 360 users, some tolerate, some don't and some glitch as a hobby. Many people enjoy glitching to such an extent that Glitching Clans have been created. With some games, such as Gears of War, or GOW, there are more than one clan fighting to discover glitching. This competition has enabled many glitches to be found throughout GOW, and becasue of all these discoveries Gears of War has become one of the most buggy, exploited game to date. Glitching may be fun to a wide variety, or audience of people, however, to some it is no fun at all. This is because many glitches can determine wether you win or losse a game, sot of, actually, just like cheating. For this reason glitching should only be performed in while your in a match with people that are okay with you glitching. In Xbox live do not glitch in ranked matches (only in player matches), it is a form of cheating. Although Xbox does not ban too many people, there is always the risk, don't take it.

Anyway's becasue of the recent occuring of all this glitching, I stepped forward to create this site, to be used as a premier site for Glitching information, providing tutorials and videos for how to perform glitches found in popular console and PC titles.

Damn Glitchers!

Glitches, or technical errors in games are very common in todays gaming experience. Even highly acclaimed games such as Halo 3 and Gears of War are vulnerable to glitches. Some glitches allow a game user to perform actions which, by the game creators, weren't purposely added to the game. Glitches, such as Super Bouncing, or Super Jumping, in Halo 2 were used mostly for fun, however some people found these glitches as a form of cheating, which was true in some cases. I previously kept a game glitching site. However, my Host, Trap 17, required posting to keep the site up, since I am stubborn and forgetful I could not keep the site up. I would always forget to post and keep the site up. However, I figure, since I have this handy blog form Blogger.com, I can post occasional glitches and keep them in a seperate archive. Some people find Glitchers (the Users of Glitching) as an abomination to gaming, so the glitches I add will hopefully help prevent, or enable pay back to glitchers, if you are not in support of glitch use. Also, do not glitch in Ranked games on any platform, unless found acceptable, ban could occur as I discussed in an earlier Blog.

Crysis Demo Out

Yesterday, after finding out my Xbox 360 was totaled (Read the Blog), I sat down on my computer and looked for any form of entertainment. I looked around on Gamespot to see if any new games were coming out for the Xbox 360 that I would be missing. I didn't find any upcoming Xbox Games, but instead did find the Crysis Demo had arrived for the PC, apperently it had been out since the 26, and I had not been informed. The file size was over a Gigabyte, so it took a while to complete the download and install. Crysis is beautiful in the graphical aspect (Even though I can only play it on the Medium Visual Settings), I have only played the first 5 minutes of it, and swam in the Water, but the graphics look exceptional, and the gameplay, frpm what I know so far is well put together. Instead of posting more, I will play some more Crysis, and get back to the subject later. If you are also interested in downloading the Crysis Demo, it is available Here.

Xbox 360 Broken... Again.

I just went downstairs to find my Xbox 360 cannot read any discs. I know it's because my brother was playing it earlier but he won't admit to this. Since it broke so suddenly I figure he cracked the internal part of the tray when exchanging discs. I have had broken disc tray before, and had to get it repaired, but it was because the disc tray gradually stopped working, wear and tear caused it. I called Microsoft and since all Xbox 360 Warranties have been Extended I can get a repair. So, I guess it is back to Microsoft for repair, this time 3-4 months.

UT3 Beta Demo Out...

So, the UT3 Demo, released October 12, isn't too shabby. It is gorgeous, and has been extremely optimized (I am able to play it on my 3 year old computer: Pentium 4, 2 Gigs of Ram, BFG 7600 GT OC). It is very fast based, and even though I die a lot, the re spawn is quick and keeps the game enjoyable. The only problem I had, which seems to be a problem in the Unreal 3 Engine, is the lag. Just as in Gears of Warm lag is very noticeable. Any ways, you can download the Unreal Tournament 3 Beta Demo at FileFront.

Why so Short?

Games today are getting shorter and shorter, making up for this is the graphics behind them, or atleast that is what the companies think. I was deaply offended when I looked at GameSpot's rating of Halo 3 (9.5/10) compared to Super Mario 64 (9.4). Halo can be beaten easily in one day, however, it took me weeks to beat Mario 64. Super Mario had more Game play than all 3 Halos together, and if it were to have a Multiplayer it would have kicked the ass out of Halo 3. Why is Halo 3 so fucking overrated?

Unreal Tournament 3

UT3 (Short for Unreal Tournament 3, previously called Unreal Tournament 2007) is Epic's upcoming first shooter taking graphical advantage of the Unreal 3 Engine. It was previously known as UT2007 because that was when it was supposed to be releases, however, Epic is picky, hopefully for the better, and couldn't get the game out, by then, it is now scheduled for November (2007) to be released for the PS3 (Playstation 3), and PC. What about the Xbox 360? Of course, we have to get the game later, in 2008. This makes little sense to me since Epic games, Gears of War or example, sold so well on the Xbox 360. Not many people own the Playstation 3 any ways, so why give it to them at all (Ha ha, sorry PS3 Fans). Plus, releasing UT3 the same date for the PC and Xbox 360 would make sense if they were to create online playability between the two game operators. I say release UT3 for all systems at the same time.

Microsoft is Whack...

Well, I do love Microsoft, not because they have a mediocre Operating System (Vista), but because they manufacture the most widely used video game system. However, I have had problems in the past with Microsoft, specifically with being banned. The first time I was banned off Xbox Live was because I deserved it. Embarrassingly enough, I was in fact, a Gears of War Glitcher. One day I decided to do a lot of Glitching, because back then I was terrible, I used Glitching as a way to win, and gt kills. One day I decided to Glitch for several matches strait. I soon lost connection from Xbox Live, when I signed back in I was greeted with a "You have been suspended from Xbox Live until... (I forget when)" message. I knew I deserved this, and it was one of the reasons I stopped Glitching. However, during the last Summer, I was titled anther ban, one that really put my nerves on ends. I had been playing a lot of Xbox one day, and again, I lost connection with Xbox Live. I logged on again, suspecting I had been banned, but not weary of the reason. The message stated I had received a communication ban from Xbox Live, and in order for me to continue using the Xbox Live service I needed top change my Gamertag because it was Offensive. At the time my Gamertag was BenDidYourMom, and Xbox Live had excepted it when I registered it. I had this Gamertag ever since I received my Xbox 360 and had intended on never changing it. However, because I didn't want to forfeit my Xbox 360 Live privileges, I changed my name to BenNeedsTalent (My Current Gamertag). I was given a Communication Ban as it said in the message, which I soon found out meant I could still play games. However, I could not send or Receive Messages, have Private Chats, or hear any one in the game. So whenever I saw the Speech Bubble go up in Gears of War, form some one on the other team I thought they were talking Trash, and became aggravated. I still don;t know what caused this ban, however, I'm guessing I was talking shit to some one, and they complained like pussies. I even called 1-800-4MY-XBOX and they were unable to give me details of the ban, or unban me.

Queers of War?

Gears of War was the first game I purchased for my Cheap, Refurbished, but Working Xbox 360. I loved it, the graphics were nice, the game play was smooth, and the slaying was satisfying. I loved the Head Shots, and the Shot Gun wickedness. However, what I've noticed lately, since I still play the game, is the amount of "Pussy Shit" going on. Melee whores, Boom Shot abusers, Active Snipers and Host Loving Bitches are all amounting to a large problem in the game. People will grab power weapons (Boom Shot, Sniper, Torque) and than brag about their scores in the game. I will say to them if they had skills they wouldn't need Power Weapons and suggest a 1-on-1, of course they tell me I'm not worth their time, they have nothing to prove. This is really aggravating when you know your better than some one, and they also know it,but they won't let you prove it. It is the same story with Hosts, they miss every shot, then right when you are about to win in a Shotty Battle you are downed with one shot. Of course once the round is over they sit there, brag and talk trash or shit. Again, I suggest a 1-on-1, I say I'll get some one else to host it, and invite you. The Host will decline, saying they don't want to waste their time, or they don't have the time to waste. It's really pathetic at the number of people who won't 1-on-1 in Gears. Some people even say they will 1-on-1, I get a good host to provide the connection and then and invite them, only to find out they have already signed off Xbox Live. Here's the honest truth about Gears, if you Host, that is because you need the advantage (A.K.A. because you suck), if you need to use Power Weapons every round to maintain a Top Spot on the team you also require an Advantage and suck. I find Meleeing as a way to kill people when you can't properly aim a gun, if you can;t aim a gun, you suck. Recently I have become especially pissed off, excuse my French, with the amount of European's Hosting. I know they need to Host, but, because Epic has set Gears of War to identify these British connections as perfect connections (3 bars) I am forced into joining many of these games. If you play Gears you will know Lag is a large problem, especially Overseas Lag. So the British Host will sit there calling you a "Wanker" and how bad you suck when your shots are delayed. Of course I will be kind and ask these Brits if they want me to Host a game, and they can play on my American connection, this offer is quickly declined. Because of this I really wish Epic and Microsoft had kept Gears of War as a United Stated Exclusive. Here is a video I found after searching for "Queers of War," it is pretty offensive, so take caution in watching it...

Haloverated

Alright, I''ll get down to it, the name of the site is Haloverated (Combination of Halo and Overrated), so here are my ideas on Halo 3, and the series. I didn't own a Xbox, so I never owned Halo or Halo 2. However, on occasion, very rare occasion I would play these games. They were alright, and provided hype for the upcoming Halo 3, obviously, in my opinion, too much hype. I didn't receive the Beta of Halo 3 because I wasn't interested in paying money for Crackdown, a game for which I had no care for. However, my friend had it, and the graphics resembled Halo 2, maybe a bit better, but not much. The first couple days after playing his Halo 3 Beta he talked about how kick ass it was, however, as a weak went by he talked about the game being less than expecting, and boring. Later on, about a week and a half of owning the Beta his Xbox 360 crashed, the Beta had ruined his Hard Drive. after the Beta, shortly before the release of Halo 3, the full game,I was informed the graphics in the "Real Thing" would be amazing, much better than the Beta. I purchased Halo 3 midnight, the first day it was out. Of course I had to wait in a line of "Halo Lovers," or "Halo Loving Bastards." However, I was not in line because I was an enthusiast of the Halo trilogy, I had just been to lazy to Pre-Order Halo 3, and I didn't want to end up waiting on a sold out, back ordered game. Once I arrived home with Halo 3 I went to sleep, many people played it and then skipped school the next day, I didn't. I went to school, and when I got home, I played for the first time, the graphics were the same as they were in the Beta. That is what I first noticed, how un-optimized the graphics were for such a powerful system. This was very disappointing to me since I own a High Definition Television, not the largest one available, but its decent, and how am I supposed to show off how beautiful it makes games look if the game looks like shit. Gears of War, one of the early releases for the 360, released over a year before Halo 3 still, using the Unreal 3 Engine, has better graphics than Halo 3, embarrassing. So, I started playing and noticed how easy it was in multi player (I didn't bother staring Campaign because I really don't give a fuck, I wouldn't have purchased Xbox Live if I wasn't going to use it). This was disappointing because I didn't own Halo or Halo 2, and the game play was so easy which demonstrates any one can be good at Halo 3. I don't like games which are so easy. In Gears of War I had to develop skill, and only people with skills got kills, its a whole different story in Halo 3. Also, I played only an hour or two, and leveled up very quick, I want a goal to look forward too, and that is being a level 50, I want it to take a while. Again, comparing to Gears of War, there was a Seriously Achievement, you had to work toward 10,000 kills in ranked games, a very time devoted achievement. Besides, these complaints I found Halo 3 a mediocre game, that was until they updated the Play list for Team Slayer. In the games first weak there was an option in Team Slayer, you could play basic Team Slayer, or veto this and play Shotty Sniper Team Slayer, I loved having the option because I loved Shotty Sniper. An update in the play list almost abolished Shotty Sniper, the frequency is rare now. This was the last straw for me, how much can you fuck up a game, I don't care if people didn't like Shotty Sniper, and I'm aware many didn't, but I liked having the option. After I realized the lack of Shotty Sniper I stopped playing Halo 3, or at least playing it frequently, I rather play Gears of War. You guys can comment and say what you want, but in my opinion, Halo 3 is disappointing.

Here is a Video, the Halo 3 Hoedown...

The Beginning

Alright, my name is Ben. I wear Abercrombie so I look like a prep, I have long hair so I'm identified as a trouble making skater, however, I am Just a Gamer. Since I play a lot of games I have opinions about them as well. I decided I would voice out my ideas about these games using this Blog. The blogs name is Haloverated, that does not mean the game will be focused on my beliefs about Halo, I just thought it sounded good.
